The Unconscious Mind and Blind Heart

by Judy   Apr 27, 2007

Scattered thoughts like the photographs upon her bedroom floor,
Investing her heart's deepest desires with such scorn,
Deceiving all those who she adores,
What was of the past is now torn.

Attempting to conceal what her heart wishes to feel,
Ice blue eyes see through her disguise,
Transparent to you like the car window she looks through while you drive.

Pocket-sized sentiment helps mend what wants to heal,
Leading astray with no intent to fill the empty void she demands to repeal,
Pulsing within her chest lies the eagerness to burst with eternal happiness.

Late night visits to the place where the land meets the ocean to let out all her frustrations,
Gazing up at the stars which mimics the stare that use to captivate her,
The crash of the water against the sand soothes her like the reverberation in your voice.

The pain fades as your absence prolongs,
The memories still linger in her mind just suppressed deep down inside,
The footprints you left behind will forever be engraved in her heart,
Remaining a part of her like the stain she left on your shirt that day in the car.
