The Day (Part I)

He says it's just for now
it really won't be that long
he says not to cry
"Please just stay strong"

He turns and walks away
before fer words are heard
because the look upon her face
is more than a thousand words

She cries with every passing day
that he's gone away
though she cries and cries
her eyes are still not dry

She cries again to her mom
"I don't think I can take another day!"
"My dear, my dear, it won't be long.
He will return one day."

So she waits until the day
she'll see his smiling face
to be wrapped into his arms
and spin with perfect grace
