Remember Me

by Poet   May 1, 2007

Will you remember me as the lights fade and I exit to the right of the stage
Will you remember me in my prime, like a bird about to leave it's cage
Will your remember me and those tears I cried as you held me in your embrace
Do you remember what you told me? You said "just think of a happier place"
Will you remember the smile I flashed in your direction as you sat in the stands
Do you remember how I rushed into your arms and you offered me your hand
Will you remember every motion, every movement to every note high and low
Do you remember as you dried my tears, you were afraid to let me go
Will you remember the glint of happiness in my eyes as I locked eyes with you for that brief moment
Remember my worries that came down to nothing in the end
Will you remember the pain that was held in my eyes
As we departed for that long bus ride
Do you remember what you told me as you held me
You told me it'd be fine for the both of us
Will you remember the warmth as I lay in your arms
Remember your promise to keep me from harm
Will you remember the soft touch of my hand against yours
Remember how we longed for so much more
Will you remember how fast my heart was beating
Remember how much our eyes kept meeting
Do you remember how our passion grew so fast
Will you remember me and that moment we wanted so badly to last
