Long Winters Night

by John Pickett   May 2, 2007

Nothing left to see
Nothing left for me

Nothing here in the light
Nothing worth the fight

The price we all pay
Is not worth the cost
For lives and frozen loves lost

Sometimes I wish this story would end
Just to know I left a friend
Not behind but deep inside

I can't seem to get this life right
So lets just kiss and say "goodnight"

Maybe the morning will be better...
Just so long as I don't send this letter

I am just a ghost to you, make-believe
A fantasy yet to conceive

This winter is long, but tonight promises
To be longer than any cold bitter winter.
