Infront of Ones Eyes

by Poet   May 2, 2007

As we sit here, you and I surrounded by everyone else
Nobody sees it except you and me, exactly what we are and want to be
As I hold his hand beneath the table, your eyes meet with mine
I try so hard to keep everything safe, drama free and fine
But the way your touch was on my skin and the way you took my breath away
The way you held my hands in yours and kissed me on that day
So as I lean into his arms I try not to think of you
I try to lie to myself inside to lie and say it's not true
But at night we know that you and I really want to be together
We sit here and lie to their faces saying we're done forever
But that glint in your eyes and that gaze in mine as I grip his hand
The looks we give eachother are only for us to understand
So as the days pass and each day drags on
We're waiting for someone to come along
And say they know what's going on between us
What happens on every trip in that bus
But nobody gets it, no one understands
So I continue to close my eyes and grasp his hand
As I do these things with him, he thinks I'm all his
When deep inside I think of you and everything I miss
