In the world today, there are many different places with many different languages. There is English, Italian, Chinese, etc. But, one of the popular languages nowadays is Spanish. All around the world, most people speak Spanish. Spanish is very popular in many different places. One of the places that it is very popular is Uruguay. Uruguay is a Southern South America Country, boarding the South Atlantic Ocean, between Argentina and Brazil. In Uruguay, the weather is very similar to what we have here in the United States. They have times of the year when the weather is very hot but there are times when it is cold. The coolest month is June and the warmest of January. Therefore, if you want to go to enjoy the beaches, it is best to go in January. Unlike the United States, most of Uruguay is rolling plains and low hills, leaving the land very fertile. The capital of Uruguay is Montevideo. Montevideo is a typical city in the southern part of the country. It was founded by Bruno Mauricio in 1726. It's population is about 1,325,968(as of 2004), even with the low birthrates and the deathrates. It is the countries largest city, having it to be 44% of Uruguay. Uruguay is very similar to the United States' Government. They are a Constitutional Republic party. Also, they have branches of government like the legislature, executive, and judicial, just as the U.S..Uruguay is also very popular for some of their main chief products that they produce and make. Some of the main products is computer kits, paint, plastic, and safety locks. All of these products can be purchased online or by phone. Also, supplies and equipment for Ford facilities are other chief products in Uruguay. The food in Uruguay is somewhat similar to what we have in the United States. In Montevideo and all of Uruguay, they keep their traditional european roots. Some of the foods that we eat here in the United States are originated in Uruguay. Foods like pasta, sausage, barbecue, pancakes, cookies, and cakes. But their most exqursit and famous dish in the world is asado. It is a sweet pasta used to fill up pancakes, cookies, and cakes. One of their national drinks there is the Grappamiel. It is an alcoholic drink that is made with honey that is used to warm the body. It is very popular in rural areas. Something that is very important in Uruguay is the education. Even though it is important, it is separted in the learning process. The urban areas get higher education, leaving the rural areas being demonstrably lower. But the literacy percentage is still very high, being at 98%. Some of the subjects that they have is math, science, and biology(science). Just as in the U.S., teachers go to college and they have to be trained to become a teacher. And most of the teachers there get paid fairly well and are socially respected. One of the main problems that they have is: inadequacy of facilities, instructional material, and the teachers' aids. In Uruguay, there are only six (6) colleges and universities.
