The Downfall of an Unannounced Lover

by SweetEnigma   May 4, 2007

A beneficial parting,
for it seems we may have failed.
This coincidental end,
to that whence once we belonged,
but it seems that ship has sailed.

A full bodied closure,
to a debris of wrecked emotion.
Let us sweep the shards,
of shattered egos, battered hearts.
For this final reckoning there be no solution.

The timeless sands,
spilling from an empty hourglass,
whisper of the foreboding end.
Our sacred promises of forever,
perish among the evenings shadows cast.

Mere superficial tears,
beckoning feelings from a lacking soul.
The resolution dulling an anti-climax.
An unrelenting inevitability
separating that which was never whole.
