Lover Like You

by Romancing the Darker Side   May 7, 2007

Black distances
Are falling through your eyes
A razor lowered to your wrist:
Your ultimate demise

Freezing through the aftermath
Of a once-perfect soul
Letting go of your fears
Is an impossible role

The love, the hurt, the pain
The feelings and the trauma
Are a small but simple way
You contribute to the drama

Come to me now, in black and white
But color her world instead
My heart is cold, emotionless
You left me for less than dead

A last resort: my suicide
It left you crying not a tear
For my death was not your dread
But my life was your fear

Come to me now
Let yourself break in
I'll still push you away
You never held -me- within!

You're falling out now
Of the life I carved you in
With a lover like you
No one could ever win
