Tonight is for you

by PS   May 8, 2007

Sparks in the sky shine
the moon's rays touch my skin
as i lie here in the emerald grass
and watch the stars dance

breezes tickle my bare skin
causing comfortable shivers
long black hair frames my calm face
coated in the dark of the night

a candle bobs in rhythm of your step
approaching, coming closer
our eyes meet as you stop
silence as hearts stop

the earth stops spinning
stars and moon hold still
as brown meets gray
as eyes hold bear our hearts

a smile grows on my face
mirrored on yours, lit
by the wavering light
and you step

footsteps muffled in soft grass
carrying you away.
but a presence was felt in that moment
yet the world spins again

i lay here alone, but feel you here
and tonight
tonight is for you.
