Unappealing feelings

by Jess   May 11, 2007

Fight back the tears that long to release
in order to protect the others guilt and ease
hold back the feelings that want to run out
the need for him, he'll never know about
bite back the screams of pain and despair
that later will leave you gasping for air
take every word in then sit in your silence
your stupid defense is only seen as defiance

And when he's gone your world can fall
tears, screams, and sobs let go of them all
do you feel better? as you hurt alone?
all that rings in your ears is his disappointed tone
your introversion protruded and pushed him away
when you needed his caring and loving to stay
stop trying and wanting for all the wrong things
just look what your drama and neediness brings

Someone said love only causes us pain
its not love, but ourselves we should blame
love gives us reasons to dream and succeed
we cause the pain through our suffocating greed
your sensitivity and emotion are anything but appealing
why can't you become numb to all things you are feeling?
now you're losing your hope and reason for dreams
while he's rebuilding his wall, you once made burst at the seams

    Jess,

every single line in this poem fits perfectly, not too long, not too short. Although the theme is sad and painful,I still feel this is your greatest work to date. It is such a heartwrencing read that holds you from start to finish, but that would hold true even if I didn't know YOU wrote it. the whole thing just breathes so much strong GENUINE emotion. This is my new favorite poem :] in all of poemworld.
