Lie

by Bloodstained   May 12, 2007

Were taught to be tough, fearless.
Hiding hidden emotions, tearless.
Be the way that they want you to be.
Give a half smile to mask your misery.

Make sure youre average and dont try.
Laugh at their insults and dont cry.
Dont talk about how you really feel.
Or theyll all abandon you when they find out that youre real.
Theyre friend-y, friend-ish, feindish friends.
Whose friendship comes to an abrupt end.
Why you hang out with them, you have no clue.
They dont like you, and neither do you.
Being alone is one of your greatest fears.
You need friends even if they leave you in tears.
You thrive in the shadows of your shallow lies.
Every time you lie, youre sealing your demise.
Youve transformed yourself to fit what they want you to be.
You can cry a river, but youre already lost at sea.
You can barely figure out who you are.
Youve tried, but its not working out so far.
Just dwell in the present and erase the past.
Maybe one day youll be liked at last.

Were taught to be tough, fearless.
Hiding hidden emotions, tearless.
Be the way that they want you to be.
Give a half smile to mask your misery.

When life gives you lemons, you throw them all away.
Theyve become like a part of you that you must obey.
Theyve stripped away who you really are.
And now all you have to show is a permanent scar.
One day, youll slip how you really feel.
And theyll all abandon you when they find out that youre real.
That brings you back to the beginning, but oh you havent even started
Now all of your old friends have long departed.
Being alone is one of your greatest fears.
You need friends even if they leave you in tears.
They used to leave you in tears, but in tears of joy.
They loved you and didnâ??t treat you like an old toy.
Youre soul-searching and looking for answers from above.
Youve forgotten how to care, to feel, or to love.
How you wish that you could rewind the clock.
Youd go to your heart and make it unlock
To shut up and stay the way you wanted to be.
To wipe away the blindness thats made it impossible to see.

Were taught to be tough, fearless.
Hiding hidden emotions, tearless.
Be the way that they want you to be.
Give a half smile to mask your misery.

Were taught to be tough, fearless.
Hiding hidden emotions, tearless.
What theyve taught is wrong, and youve known it all along.
It had progressed so far; you had lost your sense of right and wrong.
Cry out for help, and end your pain now.
What they say is right you never should allow.
You only get one life, so live it up right.
Dont let it be just something that vanishes with the night.
If you do that youll always feel alright.
