Of Egypt

by Lanaia Lee   May 16, 2007

I can sit, meditate, and my mind carries me to a dif errant place
A place steeped in mysticism and magic
Perhaps a different lifetime, here I wear a different face
A place steeped in a history as fascinating as is thick.

In this place, I am a member of royalty, perhaps I was even a queen
This place causes me to remember, in vivid dreams
Ancient Egypt, within my dreams, this I have seen
In my dreams, I a transported here on a moon beam.

I can vividly see the Pharaoh, as he is by my side
I see the royal court, I see myself on a throne
I seem to be your regent, though I know you have had many brides
Ensuring many heirs, by not being just married to me alone.

I don't see how I could complain, because for you to have chosen me, well that would have been a great honor
Especially being regent, many women, would have envied me
I know within my very soul, I have been here before
Everything within the royal court, I plainly see.

I know Egyptian mythology, as well as my own face
There is no logical way, to answer the question, how do I know these things?
Except to say, I was there and I lived the history in this place
Egyptian history and mythology, to this I think I will always cling.

Oh, ancient Egypt, one of the loves of my life
And shall remain so, I guess until I take my last breath
Don't ask me how I know, I was once a Pharaoh's wife
But this I will defiantly believe until this life's death.
