OUR Daughter.

by OrdinaryxGirl   May 17, 2007

When I look in her eyes.
I see you, looking back at me.
I see everything I wish I would have done.
And I see everything I want to give her but can't.
I see pain.
And a little girl who is not willing to forgive me.
For being a young mother.
Who made mistakes.
And theres nothing I can do to help her.
Who knows where YOU are.
She's your daughter too.
She needs a father.
I sit here and write about how you can't break my heart.
And you won't.
But she's something else.
We are connected for life.
Through this little innocent babygirl.
Who did nothing wrong.
And deserves only the best in life.
Not only because she is my daughter.
But because we have already caused her pain.
Who are we?
Her parents?
We are blessed.
She is my angel.
And only if you knew how she calls out,"da-da"
Only if you could see her smile, or her sparkling blue eyes.
Only if you could see her first steps, or first birthday.
ONLY IF....
You could see her look into your eyes....
and know that WE created this....
Beautiful human being.
Only if you could see....
You never would have left.
