Do your promises mean anything

You promised to listen but you didn't do that
you promised to love me but as far as i can tell you didn't do that
you promised you wouldn't leave me but you did
you promised i wouldn't be hurt but i was
now you are promising that again
the only difference is i didn't ask you to promise
are you promising because your sick of being alone
are you promising because you realized what you lost
the night that you promised me you wont hurt me again i could hear it in your voice that you meant it
but i still don't know
do your promises mean anything?
