Running Through Life

by Viola   May 29, 2007

You run your life too fast
Trying to forget about the past
Trying to push the pain away
You run as fast as you can
Hoping for your escape
But the wind blows in your hair
The rain falls down your skin
And all the inbetween
You don't realize what you're doing
Stop jumping so fast
You're leaving behind so much
You don't stop for the flowers
Keep running past the beach
Won't hault near the waterfall
Just keep it out of reach
And you run through your life
But he's begging you now
"Don't leave me behind."
"Slow down baby, it's alright"
But you just keep on going
Say I can't stop now
I've come too far
"I've got to run just for now."
"I'll come back for you, I promise someday.."
Your breaking his heart
See the pain in his eyes
He says, "I can't wait for you baby."
"Won't you please just stay?"
Seeing him fall apart
It touches a part of your heart
And you promise to him
That you will never again
Cradle his heart in your hands
Holding him close
You whisper in his ear
"I've got to let you go my dear"
So you turn to run
Leaving him behind
Running through life
Once again you realize
It's more than enough
So you try to escape
Leaving sorrow behind
Hoping somehow it won't follow you around
And you leap off the ground
Hiding the tears and the frown
Put on that fake smile
And you run though the town
Going too fast, you don't care who you pass
You run, You run, You run...
