Caught On Your Wave

by Mackenzie   May 29, 2007

Sitting on the beach
My mind races around you.
I write your name in the sand
It sits there a while until a wave washes over it
It disapeared like you did.
I pick up the sand as it crumles at my feet
Like I did for you.
As I walk along the water's edge
A silohette of you walks beside me
I turn to see you
But its just my shadow that accompanies me.
My footsteps leave an imprint on the sand
Like you have left in my mind.
Your face appears in the clouds
Soon as I glance toward you
The gust of the cool sea breeze takes you away.
A lasting mark lays on the sand
From the cold, salty, ocean water.
A lasting mark is left on my skin
From the warm, salty tears.
My warm body lays in the warm, marked sand
Water washes over my life
A wave drowns my thoughts and erases you from my mind
And everything else in my eyes.
The wave leaves and I go with it.
Lifeless,
Floating,
Caught on your wave.
