A Risk Not Taken

by DarkRoseRequiem   Jun 1, 2007

I'm going to do to this world
What it has done to me
I'll cut its wrists, blacken its eyes,
And leave its soul to bleed.

I'll deprive it of everything
At its times of desperate need
I'll fill its nights with loneliness,
Crying itself to sleep.

I'll let its screams of agony
Fall upon deaf ears
It wouldn't feel any better,
When blood replaces tears.

Then, as it peels and writhes in pain,
Nobody's going to see
I long to torture this world
The way it's tortured me.

But deep inside this hatred,
Past blazes of red and black,
I encounter a storm of sanity...
...And something holds me back...
