Behind the laughs

by Suzi   Jun 5, 2007

I loved you more than life itself,
And you knew that well.
But because of how you lived your life,
These feelings we couldn't tell.
We'd laugh and joke and pretend we were friends,
But that is what it was, all pretend.
I loved you i told you,
And i never thought you would say,
I love you too.
But you did and i knew,
It was from the heart, so true.
But it was all in vain,
And you put me through pain,
When you told me that day,
I love you but don't want you.
You chose to stay where you were,
As much as you loved me, you also loved her.
For the time we spent sneaking around,
I never could tie you down.
But a place for you remains,
And we both know you'll be in my arms again.
