You Haunt My Dreams

by Jeannette Lopez   Jun 7, 2007

Sitting all alone in my room I looked up at the night sky
And all I saw was your smile and your dark, beautiful eyes.

I turned around and walked away from that place
But no matter where I'd go I'd always see your embrace.

I closed my eyes and searched within
I knew this wasn't real and couldn't be happening.

I didn't know where to go where I knew you wouldn't be
But even far from you, I'd still see our looping memories.

I didn't know how to make it stop or how to say goodbye
But then I realized it was just a dream and had to open my eyes.

It may have all felt so real and made it seem that you and me were meant to be
But the truth is, no matter how many times you haunt me I'll always remain free.
