Poisoned Apple

by Alice   Jun 13, 2007

There is a lot I have been through.
A broken heart, a lost glass shoe.
On a magic carpet, I once flew.
But every poisoned apple still leads back to you.

Every prince wants her, the most desired princess.
But all I see in the mirror is a broken mess.
Yet another drama queen, yet more running mascara.
One less princess for one more broken tiara.

I will leave but I will not apologise.
You like to laugh, but you love to criticize.
You always ask for truths, when you all wish for lies.
All that was left of my princessyness has gone.
Somewhere along this trail it all went wrong.
Most days I'm left not knowing what to do.
But I know every poisoned spinning wheel leads back to you.

So I will sit in my perfect dress, with my perfect hair.
And I will listen to you speak about how happy you are to be there.
If you dare to ask if I ever feel like a mess.
I will laugh and say, of course not, I am a princess.
You ask if I get bad dreams that ever get out of hand.
And I will giggle and say, I dream I'm Alice and I'm in wonderland.

I have been through it all, I suppose.
My first love gave me a magic but dying rose.
I think that sums up my love life completely.
He broke my heart in two so neatly.

There is so much that I have been through.
First the broken heart, then the broken glass shoe.
On a magic carpet, I once flew.
And after all this time, every poison apple still leads me back to you.
