Prom Night

by Bethany M   Jun 20, 2007

I walk down the stairs
And I see you smile
The kind of smile I hadn't seen
In quite a while

Pose after pose
The camera clicks
The more you stare
The fast my heart ticks

As we walk out the door
Hand in hand
I felf as if
There was no land

When we got to prom
I didn't want to dance
But I danced with you
And I took a chance

Glance after glance
People look at me
And I tell myself
We're as beautiful as can be

Flowers on my wrist
Curls in my hair
Long, flowing dress
No wonder people stare

Snazzy tux
Flowers on your chest
The people looking at us
Just wouldn't give it a rest

As our song plays
We stare into each others eyes
We sing our song
As it tells no lies

As our song ends
And we leave the floor
I wanted to dance with you
Just once more

Our one last dance
We kissed goodnight
You took me home
I felt so bright

Later when we look back
Onto that night
We will realize
We Were just right
