Running away from love

by Kimatha   Jun 25, 2007

I turn the opposite way
hiding all my tears and my pain
and i cover my face
Trying not to be seen
by that word called love
I still look at the past as if it was my future
as if the pain that i felt before will come back again
re-opening my scars from when i fought back with that word called love
Love is my enemy
love is my biggest challenge
and when i try to win and overcome
I lose
And as love stands tall
I fall
Because i always lose the one i love...
Love is just a metaphor
A word that can easily be spoken
And when the words come out of his mouth that phrase "I love you"..........................
I fall for it
Like when he tells me im his angel, his queen
I smile
And when he says we'll get married and have kids
That word love begans to do his dirty deed and i began to fall in love
And as the world turns, stars brighten, and days go by
Thats when that word love begans his pain
And i hurt
my smile and my laughter fades
And love becomes my enemy......
I turn the opposite way
hiding all my tears and my pain
and i cover my face
Running away from LOVE

I really like your poem! I can relate, I felt like it was me at one time saying those same words. I voted excellent, because that's what it was. Check out one of my poems, I wrote it when I was 16. It's called Emptyness.
