Off To War

He joined the Army to become a man
He never dreamed at 18
He would go to fight in Iran
From hanging out with his friends
To having a gun placed in his hands
He landed in the dessert
To defend our great land
He fires every bullet and says to himself
I fire this gun so our families are safe
Sometimes I even see our enemy's face
At night sometimes I can't sleep
Because thing are blowing up so close to me
I wonder will I see my family again
Or will I die in this forsaken land
Will I see my little brother play his littel league
Or taste my mom's cooking
To hear my father say he was proud of me
I know this my seem stupid to you
But to me I just a kids
And these are the thing I wish I could do
If only for a minute
I want to feel them so close
As I fire my gun again
