Last Night

by Benjamin Ishmael   Jul 3, 2007

So many lonely nights without you
Thinking of all the things that make me feel blue
Watching the days go by without you and me
Sometimes I wish I could change our destiny

We had so many months of fun
Days when your eyes sparkled in the sun
Listening to your words of love so true
I loved so much being right next to you

At night we talked with stars above
We spoke of dreams of our future love
The tender hugs and last minute kiss that we shared
No thought of consequences were ever more than we could bear

I remember the night when things slowed down
The sky was dark and silent with two hearts pounding
Our eyes were locked on one another waiting for a response
Tears were slowly dripping with the thought of losing what you love

I thought it was the right thing to say
I wanted you to be the one that wanted to stay
I couldn't go on without the hope of long term love
I must've felt the love was a test from above

Now I sit here alone with you not around
Days go by without a whisper of a sound
Who would have thought that my nightmare would come true
All I ever wanted was to have love to feel from you
