The lost mare

On dark and windy night,
I hear a call and cry
I hear a cantering hooves
Of movements beautiful and swift
I see strong muscles of power
Move and shift under his shimmering coat
He lifts his head andwaits delicately in the wind
Looking for the mare he once lost
Looking searching silently
hoping for her 2 came cantering
outta of the gloomy silence
back 2 where she belonged
He turns and looks at me with his dark eyes
wondering if I had seen his lost and beloved
I looked at him and shook my head
then looking sadly 2 the ground
He pricked his ears and looked 2 the west
Thinking he had heard her
But she is gone long gone
cantering through meadows green
While I to stand alone wondering
for my beloved
I put my hand on his coat
and then he looked at me
as though beckoning for me
I climb unto his back
and we gallop far away
To find our beloved ones
in those faraway green meadows
