This was lovely to read. I once had this in my life.

I will always be there to hug and hold
Even when you grow old
When you are old and gray, I will be there
Still pushing the wooden rocking chair.

This was a dream of mine and my husbands to be rocking in our rocking chairs together. God had diffrent plans. This brought back so may memories. I hope all your dreams come true.

What a gorgeous and endearing piece you've written! In fact, I find it quite sweet and delightful to read; furthermore, I agree with Sir Adel's remark. Love, indeed, is both a principle and an action. Without committing oneself wholly into it, it eventually will dwindle through the course of time.

My favorite stanza would be as follows:
"If I follow the directions from a book
I will even become a better cook
I hope now you have a good notion
All about my love, and devotion."
^It simply gave me a smile. I'd love to have a husband who is a better cook than I am. Akin to my dad.
