Silent Night

I walk a mile to find you
but you're no where in sight
wondering where you are
in this cold and silent night

i peer into the darkness
hoping there you'll be
but the darkness still remains
and emptiness is all i see

i walk another mile
calling out your name
listening for a reply
but the silence still remains

i stop walking then
and i look up at the sky
placing my hand over the hole in my chest
as tears fill up my eyes

i turn and run in the opposite direction
feeling as though im being torn and ripped apart
realizing i gave and you took me everything
starting with my heart

i stare up at the stars
and wonderif your looking too
thinking about me
as i am about you

i know together we cant be
cause we're so far apart
so i pray for time to mend
and maybe someday get back my heart

i turn to walk away
as i hope to see some kind of light
i take one last glance into the dark
nut it remains just one empty, cold...silent night...
