A memory of school love

by Beautifully Broken   Jul 17, 2007

Standing outside the school we went to
Amazing how years past and it still the same
The same old plants creeping up the walls
Same brushes gracing the dull brown of the building
It's been a few years since I last stood here
That day burnt in my head like a photo
You and me, stand looking at what was
Both knew we would never be students there again
You off to college, me off to another high school
My head on your shoulder, your arm around me
Remember all the good times we had
Oh how I miss those days
Slipping out of class to see you
Chillin in the stairway, waiting to get busted
Kissing on the football field
All sweet memories,
Oh how things have change
Never thought we end,
But like the school year we did
All the fighting finally doing us in
Ripping me from your arms
Tearing out my heart
Walking down the quiet halls
Remember walking with you hand in hand
Seeing the classroom, the desk we sat at
Not a lot of change, all subtle and small
Fells like we could slip back in time
All the same things on the walls
Some from student before us, some from us
But many from the lives that attendant here now
Sitting in room 213, our room
It was English when we were here,
Now math posters adore the walls
Oh how the memories flood me
How you use to pull my seat close to yours
Slipping of notes
The first time you told me you loved me
How I wish I could slip back to those days
When it was all simple
Nothing to really drag us down as there is now
You off to jail and I'm finally in college
With someone new, someone that loves me
Gone are the days of you and me
But oh how I miss them
But I miss you more
