A Nightmare Without You

by TrueLover   Jul 19, 2007

Panic, a cold sweat on my skin
Glowing in the lamplight, as I finally wake up.
I take a look around me; I dont know where I am
But I know what I have dreamed of,
And I dont like where Ive been.
In my sleep I saw your face,
Your eyes as cold as sin
The beautiful blue, once so warm,
Now frozen like ice within.
You are looking at me just like you dont care.
The dread builds up inside me,
Because I know whats coming.
How could someone like me, be loved by someone like you?
As the tears begin to build,
Hot, stinging pressure behind my eyes
You say those words I fear so much
Words that can end my life.
Just like that, so quickly,
You say you no longer love me
And you turn around and walk away.
You dont see my drop to my knees,
Gasping for air that I no longer have
You dont feel the slashing pain
Opening up my bleeding heart.
Im panicking, a cold sweat on my skin,
But as I wake up, you are there,
Fingers twining in my hair.
Just for know, you still love me
But every night it comes haunting
My nightmare without you here.
