Upon a dreary day
As I struggle to find my way
I hear your voice
And all trouble runs astray

Throughout a bitter night
Your smile eases my fright
You provide comfort
To life's rugged plight

As the summers sun glistens
And trials of day happen
I know I have a friend in you
Who will care, who will listen

If the rain beats upon my window
Bringing dark memories to follow
Your kind words calm my soul
Purging unwanted sorrow

Along this road of living
The days of life are flying
But I find peace in knowing
You're one step behind, following
