One Summer Night

by Carolyn Diane   Jul 31, 2007

That summer night he came
into her life
seem like only yesterday...
Falling in love with him
wasn't in her plans
fighting with her emotions
knowing along she would lose..

Their first night together
was beautiful; unforgettable...
She never knew that being held
gently caressed; his lips warm
upon hers could feel so right...
Words of love whispered
til' dawn brought the night's end...

The next morning she awakes
to find a single red rose
lying on the pillow beside her
along with a note that read
"I Love You"...
Causing her to tremble with desire
wanting the moment to last foever...

Now with each new day
she loves him more and knowing
his love belongs to her
she finds herself no longer
afraid to give her love; her heart...
