Light You Give

by Lindsay   Aug 1, 2007

And from this light you give, I fall into the darkness the envelopes me

Gasping for the light my eyes do seek, but do not find

A reached out hand to the light I scarcely see now

A hand protrudes from the billowing white light

The one thing I grasp to hold onto saves me

Rescued by hope and determination I am freed

Free from the darkness that holds me captive

I am no longer a hostage to the shadows I fall toward

They cannot capture me for I am unattainable

I fight by day and succumb to your will at night

It is the only darkness I admire, for I am drawn to it

As I enter it, the shadows lift and reveal my demise

I wait for you in this dark light I have found

And hope that my demise will not banish you

For I am nothing in this light without you to hold the shadows back
