Terrible Timing

by Michael   Aug 10, 2007

Tragedy struck me the day I met you.
It was during a time of depression and lost.
Although I wished and hoped we could be together,
I knew it could never be.
Not as we had met,
Not as we were going to be.

If only I could have met you before the curse.
We might have had a fighting chance.
Before I had these wounds to nurse.
Before I became this stranger you see,
Before my life was turned upside down.
Maybe you might have gotten to know me.

But just as I saw light at the end of a long tunnel,
Ready to reunite with the real me,
The same force that brought us together,
Was there to tear us apart.
I always wish it was for the better,
But a cruel joke is what it rather seems.

I’m not ready to say goodbye.
There is still much I want to know.
However the time to split is upon us,
I hope we can still be friends,
Maybe we can salvage something,
and not have this mean the end.
