Autumn Breeze

by Jasmine   Aug 12, 2007

She has been the sun within your soul
yet you weren't there to lessen her fall
You let them take her away from you
while you stood and watched
her hands gliding away
unwillingly untouched.

She now dwells in the past
surrounded by the breeze
which was dancing in her hair
the day you said goodbye so fast.
From then on you have tried to erase the guilt
framing her picture in your mind
and you cannot help but wonder
what it is you now seek to find.

You feel the flashes of her surrender
and you try to scream and yell and call
even though she's on the other side
and can't hear you at all.
Suddenly your lips are sealed
you don't know what else to say
moments passing filled with unsaid thoughts
but you can't do nothing anyway.

Now when you know they got her for sure
you lower your head in despair
while reaching the point after which
there is no repair.
What once was one and shining
now is nothing and slowly dying.
One last glimpse at the things you'll miss
decision has been made to give up trying
hoping by the time you see her
you will have stopped crying.

Gently you close your eyes
bleeding impatiently while waiting for death
to cut all of your earthly ties.
And then it comes to you
takes you by the hand where you belong
your footsteps guided by the memory of her
never before so strong.
And there she is
love betrayed but yet regained
innocence pouring out of her eyes
as she looks the other way to hide her cries.

Now you got the girl
and she now has her man
two halves united in heaven again
no longer waiting for eternity to cease
and waltzing together
carried by the autumn breeze.

***For Him who said that giving up was the best decision he ever made***
