Misguided Love

by Stephanie Hyatt   Aug 25, 2007

I'm lonely now.
Alone I suffer with your absence.
Gone, never to return.
I see the things you gave me,
and touch them longingly.
Your face is etched,
upon my memory.
Your love carved in my heart.
You left so swiftly and silently.
Yesterday, you were by my side,
I was in your arms,
our lives were entwined.
Today, you are gone - nothing remains,
but a few scant memories,
and a deep, deep hurt,
the ache of emptiness and
flickering, fading hopes.
