Don't Forget My Eyes

by ari   Aug 28, 2007

All those letters you wrote,
they never meant anything.
just an accomplice to my suffering.
This is so cliche.
Your pen was mightier than the sword;
It tore me to pieces with words.
Daggers couldn't have done it better.
I'll thank you for nothing,
your sentiments were empty,
and your insults lost their sting.

But take the letters, break the words, tear me down.
All you'll find is a black ink heart.
And please don't cry,
tears won't wash away the stories.

Drawn conclusions will remain tattooed,
a reminder of my past mistakes.
Take this day, immortalize it in amber,
keep it in your pocket.
just don't forget my eyes,
with the reflection of memories long gone,
blown away with my dreams.

Please take the letters, break the words, tear me down.
Save me from despair, my fears.
Your pen has destroyed us.
You can color me sorrowful,
my black ink heart will never beat again
with the blood of your fabricated world.
Just don't forget my eyes.
They never needed blood to see.
