Awake

by Viola   Aug 29, 2007

The rain falls gently against my window
That soft calming sound fills the space
And the tranquil breeze of the night
Flutters the curtains as it makes its way in
My room is washed by the light of the moon
A simple blue that etches shadows here and there
It's late, but I cannot sleep tonight
A restless mind won't allow me the pleasure
These thoughts of you fill my mind
And I can't find a way to leave them behind
The sensation of wanting more from you
Keeps tangling with my feelings inside
And the idea of making you mine someday
Dances around in my lonely heart
The clock keeps ticking away
But still sleep won't win me over
I lie awake going through the same thing again
But baby, you know, I really don't mind
Because if it's thoughts of you that fill my head
Then I know, I could stay up all night
