PROUD AMERICAN SOLDIER

by Tylor Dent   Sep 1, 2007

Off in Iraq you go.
So proud and so strong.
Fighting for respect.
That you've been waiting for so long.

You go all day.
In the hot and sweaty air.
Not a minute to waste.
Although the heats hard to bare.

You know you are my hero.
My brother till the end.
My every day thought.
And one of my best friends.

I fear what could happen to you.
But I know you inside and out.
You never fear a thing.
You never have a doubt.

You're fighting for your country.
Your family and your friends.
You're waiting for the day.
When you can come back home again.

Where you can actually see peace in the air.
And not a bullet that flies by.
A place where it is safe.
And comfortable all the time.

You have the temper of an Irish.
But a side that no one sees.
When everyone doubted you.
Look who you turned out to be.

A person that everyone respects.
And has a good head on his shoulders.
A prayer on every coming night.
But most of all a Proud American Soldier....
