Adoring Fan

by chris   Sep 2, 2007

The audience is silent, suddenly the lights dim and you make your entrance,
the crowd goes wild they all love you,
but they will never capture your true magical essence,
only cheer a couple times and leave the arena hear your name and ask "Who?"
never realized what the most important thing is,
you only want fame and the filthy currency that comes with it,
I stood in your shadow hoping one day I'll shine half as bright, just so I could catch your sight,
A constant struggle just to get your attention I break in half,
No affection for this adoring fan, only dirty motel rooms and cheap etiquettcy,
Oh how I wish that you could just line your eyes with mine,
Someday maybe you will wake up and see that the man in the corner whom you've shown a blind eye,
Was the same guy who saved your life when you were just nobody.
