Crystal vs. hearts

by brittany beal   Sep 4, 2007

Thin crystal is so delicate
breakable indeed
i cannot stress enough
the care that you will need
before you touch the crystal
think how it may break
and once you pick it up,
make no mistakes.

a heart is like that crystal
as breakable as so
one small crack it shatters,
unable to let go

people say time heals broken things
and that i do not know
for my hearts been misplaced
and the devil owns my soul

i swear i held that love just once,
thought it wasn't quiet for you
this boy i met sometime ago
for him my love was true.

i wish that i could distinguish the
good stuff from the bad
but all i know is that in my heart
if i were you i'd be mad.

but life goes on, even though things end
broken hearts will slowly mend
and maybe when the right time
you and me can be just friends.
