The foolish lesson

by Samantha B   Sep 9, 2007

A bitter stab of jealousy
A cold pain, lost in translation
Anger, Revenge vying for my attention
Hatred and regret waiting to overcome,
Words now trying to come out as wisdom.

Unread secrets lay behind as words
and this a new chapter of the closed book.
Thinking this was closure,
the fairy-tale ending; all it was-
A stupid beginning.

Feminine omnipotence was a proud claim,
always thinking it'd stay the same-
I am now a tormented conquer;
Numb with emotion, eyes shut for direction.
An err waiting to unfold was his name.

Chivalry and terms of endearment are games
for boys waiting to be men.
A mistake leads to hesitance,
possibly neglecting what is to come- or
Maybe it's just God's will being done.
