Feeling The Distance

I wrote this today. This is dedicated to Lu, Joey, Toni, Ellie, Laura, Emma and my best friends who i have left behind in england.
basically, i miss you. :)

I don't know if its because i cant see you
or if it's because i cant hear you.
or if its a combination of things
that make me miss you.

but i want you to know your actions never went unnoticed
your words were never unheard
your smiles were greatly appreciated
even if your presence is preferred.

it puts us at opposite poles
this distance won't make us stronger
but as the saying goes,
it makes my heart grow fonder.

i could have written this in a letter
one that could be thrown away
but I'm here to imprint this in your memory
I'm here, come what may.

for everything you've done i thank you
for everything you are i love you :)

    I think that this lives up to its title.. It's ok to miss your friends, as much as it's ok to give yourself the chance to move on. My friend moved to Australia from the UK in 1987.. and we still keep in touch.. well, it's not very often, at all, but we know how to, and we know how each other is doing.. my point is, that distance doesn't stop a true friendship. I'm sure your friends are proud to know you, and will be touched by your words. Very well done. xx
