There is no date, there is no time.
Nothing costs more then a dime.
Everyone is different;
Life is but a minute.
Our story begins with a boy named Jay.
He lives his life day by day.
He does whatever it is he wants.
Jay never boasts, and never flaunts.
Jay lives in a place very green.
His neighbor is the prettiest girl he's ever seen.
One look;
Was all it took,
For her to take his heart.
But when she didn't see him, he fell apart.
Every day he thinks about her,
His love was plainly sure.
Finally she learns his name,
And he still feels the same.
Friends, is what they become.
When caught staring, he feels dumb.
"Zoned out," is all he can say.
At the park, in a field is where they lay.
That is their secret spot,
In that vacant lot.
Not being able to hold her was taking it's toll.
In his heart there began to grow, a hole.
Only she could have filled it.
But in their spot she only liked to sit.
How he yearned for her presence,
Always making arrangements.
He thought things were going to get good,
Until the day she said what he never understood.
"Away."
"For a day?"
"No, much longer."
"But... I love you."
Oh, how he wanted her to say it, too.
"Thanks."
He stood there shocked, in the rain, as she drove away.
To think about her every passing day.
Lonely and heart broken, he did die.
But so did she, for it was all a lie.
Her mother never had approved of Jay.
So she left him on that day,
Expecting a clean break.
Instead, guilt filled her up, like a lake.
