THE ANNIVERSERY OF AMERICA

by CW   Sep 24, 2007

As I sit here and reflect back
On September 11
So many memories
Run through mind
As if it was happening all over again
Being at school and sitting in English class
And suddenly the loud speaker comes on and informs all the teachers to turn on their TVs and see
Planes purposely hit the World Trade Center
Watching people jump out of windows hundreds of feet up as if they know death awaits them
Watching people run for safety while getting drowned
By tons of large quantities of bulky debris
Seeing people crying not knowing if there loves ones
Who are in the building are safe or already gone
Or people worried bout their children or family member who are on that plane that just struck into flames
And to think
All these things are happening in just a matter of seconds
Not knowing at the time this was the beginning of
American citizens coming together in unity
In memberance of the innocent people we lost
Who were in the World Trade Center working or visiting
Or the people who were on the planes going back home or just on a simple Business trip
And the beginning of thousands soldiers getting shot and killed in Iraq fighting for you and me
And to know 6 years later we still are not at peace
We are still losing soldiers
We still have family members mourning over the loss of their love ones
And we still have to walk around everyday and wonder to ourselves
When does this sad story come to an end?
