OKAY, the only thing I really noticed when I read it the first time was ;;

It was too high a cost"
^^ You would? Shouldn't it be.. I must say I wouldN'T?
If not, then let me know. Because, I'm kind of confused on that part, though I would understand the poem either way. Lol.

I like this-it has a great rhyme scheme, a smooth flow and is something myself and others can really relate to. What I find most interesting is that if you don't read the last stanza, this could apply to many things in life besides love/relationships. Very well written.
