Summer Love, Fall Break Up

by Galldora   Sep 26, 2007

Friends who want more then just friendship;
But each other not knowing this is how the other felt.
Neither of us wanted to be the one to say so;
In fear that the other would not want the same.

Summer days came and went like any other;
Taking turns stopping over at each others house for a visit.
Evening chats online to see how the others day went;
But keeping a respectable distance from each other.

Almost afraid of what would occur or would think;
If one accidentally brushed their arm against the others.
But the urge to be close to each other grows stronger;
Getting harder for us to ignore.

Many days where I have wanted to just walk up and kiss you;
Wondering if you were thinking the same thing.
Waiting to see if you would make my thoughts come to life;
Just when I thought it was going to happen you and turn away.

The maple tree leaves are turning an auburn colour;
True signs that summer is coming to an end.
Are we going to have to accept the unacceptable;
We are just not meant to be.

We have been having a summer love affair with each other;
A love affair stuck on an endless treadmill.
Our emotions continue to run towards each other;
Staying in one place exhausting out emotions on what shall never be.
