True friend

by Mack Bopape   Oct 2, 2007

I'm searching in my head
The words to thank you
And the words to praise you
To praise and thank for what you have done for me

But my head seem to be empty
I just can't find the right words to say
I will try my best anyway

As you was a neighbour
And you are still a friend
I would like to thank you
You and your family
For what you have done for me

I would come to you hungry and shelter less
And you would give food and place to sleep
I would come to you angry and strength less
And you would make me happy and strong again
I would come to you broke and in need of money
And you would give your last cent

Your name is Cry, but
I wish you were laughter because
You were always laughing
When you were with me
Even though we used to fight and argue
You were the one to initiate the reconciliation

You were always there for me
Through my hardships and tribulations
You always gave me courage
And I thank you for that

I reminisce on what happened at that time
And tear just run down my face
And you were there for me no matter what
You and your family in general
Thank all of you for that

I just have to finish this text here
Because now my mind becomes full
It becomes full of the memories
Memories that flashes back

I must just come to thank you personally
For I never did it before
And I feel guilty for that
And I know you would not take it that serious
Thank you for your true friendship
And thanks God for giving me you
as a friend, A true friend

This poem is dedicated to Japhter Sello(Cry) Mathekga .
A true friend indeed.
