Shadows

by Jen   Oct 2, 2007

First a gentle flicker
then the flame begins to move

Darkened shadows lurking
in the corners of the room

As the light gets slightly brighter
The shadows start to dance

Light entwined with darkness
Seem like lovers at first glance,

Across the floors and ceilings,
The lovers now do play,

For this is there only chance,
In the failing light of day.

But the dancers seem to tire,
As the flame begins to fail,

But they'll meet again tomorrow,
In another romantic tale.
