Ocean

by Taylor   Oct 12, 2007

I stand there
Looking out to the
Gray and blue waves
As they transform white

As they collapsed to the
Ground before me
My toes tingle
As they are greeted

By the waters coldness
How I loved the ocean
It's never ending changes
Never ending surprises

I waded out into the
Cool water
I stood there and waited
Sure enough I feel a

Rush of warmth
But as quickly as it came
It was gone
Afraid to trust the

Warmth of another
So I waded out further
The waves lapped at my skin
Like a puppy would it's

Owner, but
I did not want
To own the ocean
I wanted to be

Able to live with it
Without the fear
Of dying
With the hope a person

Would their over
Maybe it heard
My words in my heart
As the ocean seemed

To warm up
And accept how
Determined I was to love it
It opened it's murky water's

To me
But as I followed the
Trail, I could feel
It's raw emotion of

Fear or distrust
But I spoke
Soothing and Promising
Words

Reassuring it
That I would
Never hurt it
Un- till

Little by little
Day by day
It opened up to me
But not fully
And after a year

I am still standing
There
Waiting
Waiting for the one I

Love
To open up fully
And not afraid
To Trust

Anymore
