Jasmine Flutters (Villanelle)

by Laura Lamarca   Oct 13, 2007

Waiting for romance to again begin,
to live inside the heart I adore;
a flitter-flutter, these feelings within.

Hunger to hurry, excited, dive in,
emotion's cravings that I now implore,
waiting for romance to again begin.

Roses of beauty, soft scent of jasmine,
lashings of loving and laughter galore,
a flitter-flutter, these feelings within.

Visual gestures and goose-bumps on skin,
new found adventures for us to explore,
waiting for romance to again begin.

Mutual bonding, longings genuine,
our trust and friendship of silken tussore,
a flitter-flutter, these feelings within.

Warm given kisses of sweet saccharin,
affirming our fate, no wish to ignore;
waiting for romance to again begin,
a flitter-flutter, these feelings within.
